Qatar is still more than three months away from hosting the World Cup.

Before that, the name of the host country for 2026 has been decided.

Meanwhile, Argentina wants to host ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ FIFA World Cup in its own country after 8 years.

Argentina submitted an application to FIFA on Tuesday (August 2) to host the 24th World Cup in 2030.

Of course, they are not alone, Lionel Messi will organize the event with three other Latin American countries.

That list includes Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile. This has been confirmed by the Argentine media “Mundo Albiceleste”.

Before this, the first World Cup was organized in Latin America in 1930 in Uruguay.

That event was the first World Cup of football.

After two seasons, Brazil also hosted the first World Cup in their country in 1950.

Among Latin American countries, however, they have hosted the World Cup twice, the most.

The Selecao last hosted the World Cup in 2014

However, Paraguay has not hosted any World Cup event in their country so far.

If their application is finally accepted by FIFA, Paraguay will regret hosting “The Greatest Show on Earth” at least once.

Meanwhile, the 2026 World Cup will be hosted by three North American countries, Canada, Mexico and the United States.

However, the African country Morocco also applied to FIFA to host the 23rd World Cup.

But they got 69 less votes than the three North American countries and were deprived of hosting the World Cup.

Originally, 200 FIFA member countries participated in this vote.

Argentina will have to go to the polls to host the 2030 World Cup against several countries in Africa and Europe.
