Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi,
who were detained during anti-government protests in Delhi,
have been released. After 6 hours of detention on Friday afternoon,
they were released around 7 pm, according to various Indian media.
Congress on Friday announced a black-clad protest march from Delhi’s Parliament
Building to Rashtrapati Bhavan to protest against multiple issues like unemployment problem,
- GST hike, price hike. At the end of the procession, there was a program to encircle Rashtrapati Bhavan.
- Accordingly, on this day, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, leaders and workers of various levels of the opposition
- party of India took to the streets of Delhi on Friday.
- But as soon as Rahul joined the program,
- Delhi Police arrested him along with some Congress MPs. A total of 65 MPs,
- including his sister and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, were later arrested.
After the arrest, Priyanka-Rahul and other Congress MPs were kept in Delhi’s Kingsway camp, according to Indian media NDTV

Meanwhile, the video of Priyanka Gandhi being dragged into a police van went viral on various social media in India.
Members of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India’s legislature, started protesting at the Parliament building.
As a result, the Rajya Sabha session was suspended.
Rajya Sabha MPs allege – Modi government is using central agency against opposition.
In a statement in the evening, the Delhi Police said that 335 detained Congress workers,
including Rahul and Priyanka and 65 Congress MPs, have been released from the Kingsway camp.
